APA Global (the Agile Practitioner Association) is an international nonprofit professional community for Agile, Scrum, project management, product, coaching, and AI practitioners. This policy explains how we collect and use personal information across apaglobal.org and our member platform.

Information we collect

• Account data: name, email, city, country, professional headline, LinkedIn URL, and profile photo you provide.
• Membership data: membership type, status, chapter, badges, event registrations, volunteer hours, and certificates you earn.
• Application data: information you submit through membership, chapter, ambassador, speaker, mentor, and volunteer applications.
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, and anonymized analytics to improve the platform.
• Communications: content of messages you send us, including support and community inquiries.

How we use your information

• Operate the community platform, digital membership cards, and chapter directories.
• Process applications and approvals for membership, chapters, speakers, and volunteers.
• Send transactional and community emails (event invitations, chapter updates, benefits).
• Recognize contributions with badges, certificates, and leadership records.
• Improve site performance and security, and comply with legal obligations.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information with trusted service providers who help us operate the platform (authentication, database, email delivery, analytics) under contractual privacy obligations. Public profile fields you choose to display (name, headline, chapter, badges) may be visible in member directories.

Your choices

• Update or delete your profile from your member portal at any time.
• Manage notification preferences under Settings.
• Request full data export or account deletion by emailing privacy@apaglobal.org.

International transfers

APA Global is a global organization. Data may be processed in countries other than your own. We apply appropriate safeguards consistent with GDPR, UK GDPR, and comparable frameworks.

Security

We use encryption in transit, row-level security in our database, role-based access control, and audit logs for privileged actions. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password and enable available protections on your account.
